Athletics
The Calvary Chapel Christian School Eagles are members of the Space Coast Christian Conference
Athletic League. During the 2005-2006 school year, our 7th and 8th graders are eligible
to participate in co-ed soccer and in basketball, a boys’ and a girls’ team. Our 5th and 6
th graders are eligible to participate in an instructional basketball league. As our school
grows, we look forward to expanding our athletic program to include volleyball.
Participation in athletics is a privilege and students will be eligible to participate provided they
maintain appropriate spiritual, academic, behavioral and attendance standards. Minimum standards
for maintaining athletic eligibility are as follows:
- Students in grades 5th and above must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or above;
- Students receiving a Disciplinary Referral for excessive demerits (six or more in one week) or for a specific incident will not be permitted to participate in athletics (neither team practices, games nor meetings) for one week, commencing the day following the date upon which the Discipline Referral was received;
- Students must be in attendance at least ½ day on the day of an athletic contest to participate in the competition.
Teachers will keep students and parents informed of their GPA during the athletic season by sending home a printout
for each student athlete every Friday. Parents are required to sign the printout and return it to the school office
on the following Monday.
The Administration has the option of placing a student on probation for problems such as attitude, behavior and/or
homework. Final decisions concerning probation and eligibility will be made by the Administration.
CCCS reserves the right to terminate any student’s athletic eligibility at any time when deemed necessary in the
best interest of the student and the school.
